Party in the park - 28th April 2011

Brampton Primary hosted a picnic in Brampton Park to celebrate the Royal Wedding. We invited the children and parents of Central Park, New City, Roman Road and Brampton Manor to take part in the event. This was an open event so members of the community could also attend. Approximately 2000 children some with their parents took part. Children were asked to bring a rug and a picnic to share with their family. Rolls of paper were laid out in rows with children and their families sitting opposite each other. The children were given marker pens and asked to draw or write what they thought of the Royal marriage.

National Science and Engineering week

As part of the National Science and Engineering week (Friday 18th March 2011) all the classes from Nursery to Year six took part in solving a mystery. The Science was based around forms of communication.

Premise
Mrs Sheppard had gone missing from school on the morning of Friday 18th March. The children were Private Investigators and needed to solve the mystery of Mrs Sheppard’s disappearance as a team. They communicated their findings to their buddy class using a form of communication (morse code, invisible ink, string telephone) and could not let any other class overhear or see the message. It was seen as a competition where each class were trying to figure out the mystery first.

Big Dance

On Friday 9th July 2010 we took part in The Big Dance in the school playground which was a world record attempt for number of people performing a dance at the same time.
